Luxacryl 3000

A single component, acrylated rubber with inert pigments designed to provide a high film build up when applied by airless spray.

A durable intermediate coating designed for use in new construction projects or as maintenance coating over aged single component coatings. Suitable for chemical processes and oil industries, it has excellent weathering and resistance to high humidity, water, acids and alkaline. It is fast drying with rapid handling features and suitable for both exterior and interior use.

Surface preparation

  • Remove all wax, oil and grease by solvent cleaning in accordance with the guidelines given by SSPC-SP1.
  • Where necessary, remove weld spatter and round off rough weld seams and sharp edges to a smooth surface.
  • Abrasive blast clean to a minimum standard of  Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1:1988) or SSPC-SP10, with an average surface profile of 75 – 100 microns.
  • The underlying system should be intact, sound and undamaged.
  • Any loose or flaking coatings should be taken back to a firm edge.
  • Ensure that the surface to be over-coated is clean, dry, free from dust, grease and oil, or any other surface contaminants.
  • A fresh water wash must follow to remove all soluble salts.

Application procedure

Stir contents of the can thoroughly before use. Thinning is not usually required. However, if thinning is desired, do not exceed the recommended thinning ratio.
